Ok, I think we left off in Dayville! We left Dayville headed for Prairie City, thinking that would be a full days ride. That was until we ran into Red Baum! As we were on our way to Prairie City, we stopped into an old saloon that said bikers welcome...and I don't think they were talking about bicycle riders! Anyways, we got 2 Cokes and were about to be on our way when the Purple Heart winning Marine that we had been talking to offered us a ride to Prairie City! We could't say no! Especially after he refused to let us pay for our drinks! Red Baum took us the next 20 miles or so, and we shared great conversation the whole way! He was a saving grace because that day we made it to Austin Junction and turned our day into a 65 mile one and enabled us to make it to Baker City in one less day!
Now we're in Baker City and have completed the first map of our journey! Tomorrow we'll almost through Oregon and moving into Idaho! Yay! We're pretty pumped about that! Today we did about 53 miles and feel stronger each day!
Much love to everyone!

Hey, guys. Just logged onto your blog for the 1st time. And now I'm going to take a nap 'cuz your adventures have exhausted me! What an experience! Sounds like you've run into some pretty cool people. But then, I happen to think you're pretty cool, too. We're weathering Hurricane Fay today, but all's good. The Cape Escape has survived all the rain and high winds and will be available for your R&R at the end of your journey. Stay smart. Stay safe. Stay hydrated. You're the best evah! Smack! Love you, Mimi
